Samarpan Society for Health, Research and Development was put together by a group of enthusiastic developmental professionals and was registered under societies Registration Act in 2001. Samarpan is a non-profit organization, which has been working for almost 2 decades to improve the socio-economic status, health, and environment related issues among the most vulnerable members of society.

Our team at Samarpan, being the best Women NGO in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, is constantly working towards creating a better tomorrow for the underprivileged section of the society by providing them with various opportunities and services like free education for children, free health check-ups, various healthcare services, etc. Located at the heart of Dehradun City, our team is constantly seeking ways to improve pre-existing services and processes, anticipate changes and respond to any such changes proactively.

Our Patron

Born to an Industrialist parent of Dehradun Uttarakhand. Dr. Geeta Khanna did her schooling from her home town and later she did her medical education from the prestigious KGMC, Lucknow. Since her childhood she had an interest in social issues, literature and culture. Married and settled in Dehradun, she started practising medicine, focusing on child health, well-being, and public health .Championing for adolescent issues, she realized that it would require to move out of the doctor’s chamber for bringing meaningful change in the lives of not so privileged. This is thus that Samarpan took shape. She was motivated for the cause by her parents, especially her father Mr. T.C Dawar, the founder President of Samarpan ,from whom she got the gift of analytical skills and she inherited compassion from her mother Mrs.Krishna Dawar.

Under her leadership Samarpan has been making impactful contributions in the sectors of health, education, child care, capacity building, Women Empowerment, and skilling. Our focus areas on the social front have been the One-stop centre, trainings for disaster management, the 181 National Women helpline, Panchayati raj institutions and the Urban PHC’s. She is an active member of the medical organisations and held important positions in medical bodies like IMA, IAP, NNF, AHA AND ICANCL. She is currently the chairperson of the State Commission for Protection of Child rights but continues to guide and motivate the Samarpan team with her vision and enthusiasm.
